There is no doubt that digital marketing is gaining more and more ground in the marketing and communication departments.
According to a research by Gartner (CMO Spend Survey 2016-2017), the three marketing areas where the largest budgets were spent by marketing managers in 2016 – specifically 25% – were directly related to digital media.
However, there are offline marketing actions that are still considered essential by marketers and included recurrently in their annual marketing and communication plans. This is the case of the industry conferences and events.
According to this same study, the events are, in order of highest to lowest budget assigned, in sixth position in a list of 14 marketing areas.
Either to gain more visibility and recognition in local markets, increase sales, enter new markets or improve brand positioning worldwide, the truth is that more and more companies attend international events.
If we look at Spain, in 2017 more than half a million professionals (exhibitors, speakers and visitors) visited our fairgrounds in Madrid and Barcelona.
